A surrogate brain research project, with North Central State College, NHTSA, Honda, Humanetics, and Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada.
I led a design and research project. We measured rotational acceleration during head-trauma events. We built and tested surrogate brain models for crash-safety research. The team included five institutions: NHTSA, Honda, Humanetics, North Central State College, and Carleton University. I handled 3D design, data analysis, material testing, and project coordination. The goal was to better understand how traumatic brain injuries happen in a vehicle collision.
